I stumbled into The Nick a few months back and there was a band playing called Stathakula. I tried to pronounce it several times and finally got it. From the moment the first chord was struck, I was sold. The bands charisma and mismatch of personalities melds in the most unique way possible.
From his Springsteen-esque rockers to his Hank Williams tongue on the closer the band killed it. Upon seeing The Nick’s calendar, I noticed the band was coming back. The band went on after this lovely opener from Charleston, Cary Ann Heart (check them out too).
They sounded tighter than ever, the solos, the vocals, and his ever enchanting lyrics. One thing that really stuck out was that they played my favorite song, “I Felt the Lightning, Anyway.” There is no doubt in my mind I would go see this band again when they come back. I highly suggest you do to. His lyrics and music paint a picture that not many 23-year old’s can quite grasp. He truly does take you to a place. His live show is nothing short of awesome, they get better every time I have seen them.
