Hey Crack a Lackins! Here is my review of the little Texas/OK tornado, Miranda Lambert that blew into St Augustine FL!

It’s a gorgeous Florida Friday afternoon April 15th in St Augustine. We hit the beach quick to check out the waves before hitting the Ampitheater. Happen to have a buddy backstage who gives us a quick tour of Miranda Land!

Run into Aden. Aden is Mirandas smokin, kickass bass player who used to sport the mohawk.  Talk about grabbin some energy. Josh who? Of course I’m backstage and who in the hell am I and the crowd is still small but?

Then the rooster Justin Moore steps off his bus and heads to the stage. We say bye to my bud and hit the crowd for a sold out, St Augustine Amphitheater crowd. It is packed with eye candy. All ages of wanna be cowboys and cowgirls, grandmas and grandpas and people that I’m sure have never even seen a country show, are here. Our seats are kick ass dead center, a few rows back.

Justin’s backdrop is a  double barrell for the oo in his last name and he sports an American Game Cock on his banner. Ooooowww thats what I’m talkin about. Justin is young, full of energy and out to prove that he has what it takes to have longevity in this business. His band is hot and they do just what there supposed to do, light the crowd up for Miranda. Justin’s voice has the perfect twang  ” ..rifle in a gun rack … there ain’t no after sale, around here..”

Justin says he has lived most of his songs which adds to them,”…I’ve been kicked in the face by a horse cuz I ran up too fast behind him…” Hell yeah I can’t get enough. After all the wannabe country singers who don’t know shit about the country, Justin throws it in their face as well as ours.  ”…get a rope, I’m stuuuuck…”

Sun is setting, venue is packed and the newest Princess of country music hits the stage.  What a kickass feeling to watch Miranda in total control and enjoying being the boss of her own tour. To see the realization that this sold out crowd is here to see her was priceless.

Aden owns the stage behind Miranda like he’s a dang lead guitar. I love a bass player who owns a stage. Aden, I do miss the Mohawk.

Miranda’s set is perfect. Songs that made her in with her new stuff. “…Christian folk say I should quit it, I just smile and say godblessssss… Jesus drank wine and I believe we’d get along just fine…”  I liked the smile, high five and kick to the crowd when she sings “… I’ve been lying too..”

Great cover of  ”Hoochy Coo” really got the crowd fired up. I left the show high on life, high on music and high on giant beers. AAAAAAiiiieeee!

Great show and a great night! Live music is where its at folks! Whether it be a national act or some 3 piece playin a little dive like Ring of Fire, get out there and suck it up!
