Louis Landon is a sensitive and thoughtful man. His performance in Bellingham was delightful. His passion for peace was evident in the performance he gave which gives pause in appreciating all that is beautiful, quiet, and harmonious in the world.
Just before leaving for the concert we heard that we lost one of the most celebrated journalists in history. It was such a relief to have peace shower over us just as the world was shaken by the loss of Walter Cronkite someone I remember being a beacon of truth for most of my life. Louis’s music shifted the sadness from loss to one of joy and relief. I will never forget this moment, as the beauty of Landon’s music took a great weight from my shoulders. More than anything I will always remember how real the power of music is from that experience.
The power of peace is one we should never take for granted. Louis proves that if we choose simplicy and peace in our lives over and above the kind of music that gets all the limelight we would all be much happier. It reminds me famous composers like Beethoven, Chopin Brahms, and Liszt’s music remains popular, because just like Louis they took their inspiration from grace and generally quiet moments They were the rock stars of their time.
Louis’s impressions of simple moments in life like a Seattle morning, being thankful, and rejoicing were brought out in his performance with a humble grace from a man who has chosen a path and lets his music speak from his soul.
