I was at the Blue Pelican for my usual round or so, just to see the neighbors and cap off the week. I see two guys setting up to play, and I think to myself … “Well, you never know – I’ll hang around for three tunes just to see how they are.” I stayed the entire time, just to hear what these guys would come up with next – until closing that is. They didn’t stop playing until then, and I was very impressed with the repertoire as well as the quirky treatment they chose to display. Some tunes I had never heard before – and that is an impressive feat. Maybe 20 people or so in the crowd, but they all enjoyed what was happening, and there was something for everybody. Eclectic and quite refreshing. Consider me a fan.
